91Թ Grateful For Ontario’s Emergency Investment In Higher Education

(Sault Ste. Marie, ON March 31, 2020)

Today, Colleges and Universities Minister and Sault Ste. Marie MPP Ross Romano announced $25 million in emergency funding for colleges, universities and Indigenous institutes to mitigate some of the early costs of addressing the COVID-19 outbreak. For 91Թ, this investment of more than $556,000 will help to further ensure our students can succeed during these unprecedented times.

“This is a great investment in our students and everything we’re doing to help our students complete their studies,” said Dr. Ron Common, President, 91Թ. “Our College has come together during the face of adversity to support our students and ensure they have the tools they need to succeed. We are grateful to the Honourable Ross Romano and our government partner for their commitment to our students, for seeing the importance of supporting the post-secondary sector during this time, and for making an investment to promote continued success,” he added.

In response to the COVID-19 situation, 91Թ has implemented alternate measures to deliver programs remotely, such as online learning. “This emergency funding will truly make a difference and we thank the government and Minister Romano for their dedication to our institution and our students,” added Dr. Common.
